All B-Con Systems Are Go!

Hi-res Bluetooth streaming a reality!

All B-Con Systems, Go!

The Audison B-Con Hi-Res Bluetooth receiver has garnered interest from those with Audison bit products installed in their vehicles. The B-Con App, released as B-Con Go, is a handy addition. We find out why.

B-Con Go is a new app for controlling the Audison bit B-Con Hi-Res Bluetooth streamer in a car audio system.

The B-Con allows for Hi-Res streaming (24bit 96kHz) via Bluetooth from many Android phones. The new B-Con go App allows the B-Con to be placed at the heart of a car audio system and offers control of top-level functions such as Fader, Balance, Volume level and Subwoofer level. It can be configured to operate as a controller for a 2-zone system, such as a cabin or living space in a Motorhome or boat.

The app can mirror your streaming service screen and enables “machine controls” such as next/previous track, forward, and reverse search.

When used with Audison Forza amplifiers, it can switch sources and select between different sound profile presets. It also displays the amplifier temperature and operating voltage. The app controls volume at the amplifier, not on the streaming device, preserving the integrity of the content.

Hi-res Bluetooth streaming is revolutionising Hi-Res music listening in the home or any mobile application. The B-Con’s LDAC Bluetooth protocol performs superbly when matched with streaming devices with LDAC on board, including most Samsung, Sony, and Google Pixel handsets, amongst many others. Connect to your Hi-Res streaming service (Qobuz or Tidal, for example) and listen to your music in sensational quality.

Not experienced Hi-Res before? Several streaming services allow streaming of Hi-Res music. Tidal and Qobuz are favourites at Driving Sounds. However, some popular streaming services (Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) do not currently carry Hi-Res music. Many claim to be “lossless”, but this is not the same thing.

Not sure you will hear the difference? Try it out. Both Tidal and Qobuz have perpetual free one-month trials available. Most people can hear the difference in Hi-Res, even on non-Hi-Res equipment. For the full experience, though, try to find equipment that will reproduce audio at 24bit 96kHz or above without down-sampling to16-bit.

Check with your specialist installer, who should be able to demonstrate Hi-Res quality to you.
