Think About You

Howdy music lovers on the move. Been a while since we have done one of these. As you may know, we are a very small team employed doing a lot more than creating content for Driving Sounds Magazine. Due to recent life-challenges, we have been distracted away from the things we love to do most. However, we are back! Our crack team of writer and designer are back on the case to search out, listen to and report on great car audio products and cars.

Read on to see what Editor Carl Hynes has been up to with his home system and read a refresher on the excellent Audison Voce speakers and why he still rates these very highly indeed! Along the way, there is a return to our world-famous "Hidden Track" feature this month starring hugely talented Singer/Jazz guitarist Rosie Frater-Taylor. Not heard of her? We are sure you will. A fabulous talent just breaking through.

In case we have hidden the link to her tune too deeply, here it is for those who would like to listen without too much effort:

In the current issue of Driving Sounds Magazine, we feature a pair of Kef Q70 home speakers with a pair of Audison Prima APX 6.5 coaxials installed. It was a very interesting experiment and having lived with them for a while, we wanted to see what happened if we stepped up a couple of price points. Hit the link below to read the article.
At Home In The Car Part 2
Stepping up! - In this blog we look once more at the design of Audison Voce speakers and what makes this perennial a "go to" product in many people's eyes and ears!
Let's Talk About Voce

This month we feature the Top Five we used to audition our freshly upgraded Kef Q70's. Many of these lists come from a desire to throw a range of genres and styles at a system to see how it behaves. Some come from our memories and others are completely random choices. As it happens, this little set are all tracks regularly used as audition tracks.

Ravel’s Bolero – Herbert Von Karajan – Deutsche Grammaphon
Jazz at the Pawn Shop – Limehouse Blues
Rosie Frater-Taylor – Think About You
Led Zeppelin – Since I’ve Been Lovin’ You
Bicep – Atlas

Anyone can submit a Top Five. These do not need to be your favourite ever tracks, just five that you think sound good in your car. Hit the button below to submit yours.

My Top Five
Next Month

OK, We're back! We hope you have enjoyed this newsletter - it is quite an undertaking to read it all and it is busy-human-nature to scan the top level and not follow any links. However, this is where the meat of the content is, so we hope that you get a chance to revisit it at your leisure.

We always welcome feedback of any kind.

We recently visited Germany to meet with an installer there who believes he has built the ultimate SQ car. It is stacked full of high end-gear and eye watering attention to detail from machined brass speaker rings to a multi-chamber subwoofer enclosure built into the vehicle's inside front wing area. It truly is remarkable and we will be attempting to get the article completed for next month's broadcast.

Take Care and see you next month!

Carl
