Welcome to our monthly newsletter clubbies! It is an honour to be able to create these missives and send them to your in boxes.  We thank you for your interest in music, car audio and Driving Sounds Magazine.
To reward your loyalty, this month we include a brand new article from what will become issue X of Driving Sounds Magazine. The article covers a completely mad Mercedes SL 55 installation and hopefully, our article does it justice.
As usual, we kick off with a not so hidden track. This month we feature the very excellent Wunderhorse. This band is on the very edge of breaking through, having just returned from a tour of the states supporting Fontaines DC. They have a new album, "Cub" out now and will be touring the UK to promote it. It is very nicely recorded and the material is as strong as any I have heard since the late 90's!
Butterflies is the first track on the album which can be streamed in hi res on Qobuz and Tidal and probably everywhere else by now. Support British music by grabbing yourself a copy. (Also available on vinyl)

Steven Sailer is a car and home audio consultant of some years standing. He wanted to design and build a "statement" car audio demonstrator. Being a very handy chap with saw, lathe and screwdriver, he has undertaken all the work himself and "impressive" does not do the result justice. Hopefully, our brand new article does. Follow the link below and download it for free.

Creating the Ultimate Install

Although you won't see that many within the pages of Driving Sounds, we do know that extreme car audio builds exist. Most are just too "out there" to draw interest from our usual reader. However, now and again, we are taken by an urge to look at some of these. This month's blog is about the build of the car in this month's featured article. We hope you enjoy a look into the fantasy word of extreme audio!

My Top Five

What's in a Name?

There still remains a good deal of brand snobbery and smoke and mirrors in both home and car audio. In these global times, this brand allegiance seems a little bit silly, especially given the propensity for large global concerns to acquire named brands to hide the true identity of their equipment. Read this article which shines a light on some of those brands held falsely, in great esteem. If you hold on to the certainty that your B&O - branded car audio system is made by B&O, you may be surprised to find out that its car audio division is now owned by Samsung and that the equipment produced comes from Harmon Kardon, which is also owned by Samsung!

By the way, although the brand ownership element of the attached article is illuminating, I do not necessarily agree with some of the writer's views, particularly with regards the B&W upgrade in the Volvo. My friend has this upgrade, it is very average and suffers the same shortfalls of all OEM upgrades and is certainly not worth the money!

Many thanks to Ray Smith (Car Audio Stuff) for bringing this to my attention.

Take care out there and listen hard!
