There Go July

A warm July welcome to all Driving Sounds Clubbers. We have a had a busy summer so far, attending shows up and down the country spreading the word. On our travels we have met many people who were previously unaware of the great sounds they can get out of a car audio system. Sadly, many of these bought into expensive dealer upgrades and still found them wanting! Encouragingly, there seems to be more interest than ever in high quality listening both in the car and at home.

We have now embarked in anger in creating a brand new issue of Driving Sounds Magazine for you. Read on to hear all about that and many other things in this month's news bulletin. Don't forget to have a listen to this month's calendar-themed track:

Focus, Focus, Focus

Our first car feature for the next issue of Driving Sounds Magazine will be this beauty belonging to Ian Cleaver. We are due to meet up with Ian on Sunday 4th August at Silverstone where he will be sitting alongside many other Ford owners at the annual Ford Fair.

This car has an audio upgrade which has been carried out by FOUR MASTER CBS Automotive (AKA Cambridge Car Audio).

Mix and Match

Equipment manufacturers often like to make product choices easy by releasing both amplifiers and speakers that are perfectly matched to each other. but what happens if taste dictates a cross-range mash up? We have a look at the important factors when matching speakers and amplifiers form different manufacturers together:

No Space For Your Bass?

Eton Active Flat Subs

Eton has been providing car and home hifi products for many years. It is no surprise to us that their range of active flat sub boxes are amongst the best money can buy. For those who have experienced their BMW under seat subs, you will know that they are incredibly good at extracting huge amounts of bass from a very small space.

Their three USB active subs (available in 6, 8 and 10" versions) contain many similar technologies and the extremely shallow drive units featured pack a surprising amount of punch. Each variant contains a 2 channel 80 watt max amplifier which provides control as well as punch and so resulting bass is not just a flabby mess as with some of its competitors.

If you are looking for distinct and musical bass reinforcement without giving up vital in vehicle space, this could be just the product for you!
